Yes, another welcome message…!

Hi everybody!

I want to give you a warm welcome to my website. You are probably here because: a) you know me already and you’re curious about how awesome this website turned out or b) you met me in a gig, and then you googled my name. Then and luckily, Google was kind to position my website on the first results out of the multiples famous Pablo Rodríguez living out there…!

I grow up in the beautiful small village of Tijarafe (La Palma, Canary Islands). I started playing the violin at the very young age of 6 and almost desisted at 13 because I thought that drums were way cooler than playing a string instrument. Then, I discovered jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli and, he convinced me how groovy a violin could sound. After endless hours of practising, I obtained a bachelor degree in classical music and right after, a master in jazz. Now I am an ex-pat living between The Netherlands and Belgium who pursuits a life as an active musician and educator. Most of the times, I’m gravitating around styles where improvisation and rhythm are embedded. As we describe in the North Sea String Quartet, I love music that makes you move your head!

I’m a terrible writer, or at least, it takes me ages to write down a few lines of text that make sense. However, I always wanted to create a place where I can express myself, reflect my journey as a musician in these challenging but exciting times and, most of all, share ideas and music! So please, forgive me if by time to time you spot terrible grammar mistakes. Hopefully, It might get better as I keep writing more posts.

Until next time!

Abrazos,
Pablo
